Star art journal page

Hello friends and visitors!
It's my turn to host the challenge at Stamps and Stencils and I have chosen the theme 'Lucky Star'.

For this challenge we would love to see a mixed media project that has star/s in it somewhere. You can create anything you like as long as you include a star. Don't forget to use stamps or stencils or both! Can't wait to see what you create!

***

I was inspired to create a mixed media art journal page with some drawing and here is what I came up with.

I pulled out my small Dylusions art journal, one of my Stamperia stencils, Dylusions Slate grey ink spray and started to build my background.

For the second layer, I used my Dylusions stencil and my Rusty hinge Distress stain spray.

I drew some contours of a woman face using my black Conte pastel pencil.

I have purchased some Pan pastels lately and I decided to use them in this project. I love to play with these because they are so creamy and highly pigmented.

I painted the woman face with my Pan pastels and added some highlights and details with my Conte pastel pencils.

I used my Dylusions star mask and a black Conte pencil to draw some stars. Then I painted the stars with the white Pan pastel. I like the transparent look of my stars. I also used my Pan pastels on the background to add some more dimension.

That's it for today.
I hope that I have inspired you to create your mixed media creation and to join us at Stamps and Stencils this month!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving lovely comments! I read and appreciate each and every one of them!
