I am here today to share with you my mixed media project I created for our new challenge at Stamps and Stencils.
Cec is hostessing the challenge this month and she has chosen the theme: Fabric and Fibres.
This is how she describes her theme:
Let's add some fabric and/or fibres to our creations this month. You can use linen, burlap, organza, wool, lace, ribbon, rope to name a few. The list is almost endless but whatever you add, make sure there is some stamping or stenciling (or both) on your creation as well.

I love to use fabric and fibre elements in my projects and so decided to create a mixed media paper doll with lots of different fabric details.
Here is what I came up with:
Here is what I came up with:
I started with a piece of a hand dyed fabric and a piece of heavy weight cardstock. I glued down my fabric onto a cardstock and cut out the shape using my TH dress form die. I cut out the lower part of the die cut and started to build my doll.
I drew the arms and the head, colored them using my Copics and my Faber Castell pitt pastel pencils, cut them out and attached them to the dress form using some small breads form my stash.
I made a little tassel out of some twines and created a dress using the pieces of an old lace, pom pom trims and some fabric left overs. I also made a bow using my hand dyed seam binding.
I love Dylusions characters stamps so I used one of these for the legs. I colored the legs with my Dylusions inks.
I used some fiber elements to create the hair for my paper doll. I also added a small golden crown on top of her head.
I attached the center part of the doll onto the heavy weight cardstock to allow moving the head, arms and legs. I also added some fabric pieces at the bottom to create a kind of a flower path.
This mixed media paper art doll is a present to a sweet little girl I love.
I hope you like my fabric project I created for our wonderful challenge theme Fabric and Fibres at Stamps and Stencils and I encourage you to create your mixed media piece using some fabric or fibres or both with some stamping or stencilling and to join us for our challenge!
