Anything But Cute Mixed Media Blog - challenge #11

Hello, my friends!
I am here today to announce that our March challenge at Anything But Cute mixed media challenge blog has just started! I am your hostess this month and I chose the theme 'Crazy For Colours'!

Spring is coming! A time of the year that brings amazingly beautiful vibrant colours! This is what inspired me to choose the theme for this challenge.

To celebrate the springtime, we would like you to crate a mixed media project using vibrant colours!
It can be a tag, a card, an art journal page or anything else! Just be sure it's vibrant! It's time to go 'crazy' with colours!

I have created a vibrant flowery art journal page and really went messy :)

I love to apply paint using my fingers so I did it. For the first layer of paint I used mostly green, blue and yellow tones and then I went with my second layer in red, orange and fluorescent pink. I could call this process an intuitive painting.
For the third layer I used my Liguitex inks in yellow and red and sprayed it with water.

Here is my finished messy background.

I used my Dylusions ink sprays to colour my yarn.

I decided to create some dimensional flowers and started to colour my medical gauze pieces using the same Dylusions ink sprays.

Here is how I started to create my flowers.

I put some fabric buttons (previously coloured with my Dylusions inks) in the middle of my flowers. I also added a piece of fluorescent green burlap at the bottom of my page.
All the stamps I used here are from Tim Holtz and I used my Signo Uni ball pen in white to highlight some stamped words.

That's it for today! I hope I have inspired you to create a vibrant mixed media project for our March challenge at Anything But Cute!

At Anything But Cute we just love to see all the seasoned and expert mixed media artists, but we also want to encourage those who are just getting their feet wet. Our design team will always be on the lookout for these exceptional projects and artists. You just never know when we might be giving out something special to a talented mixed media newcomer. We all have to start somewhere, right?

Challenge runs until April 4th, 2016 - we can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving lovely comments! I read and appreciate each and every one of them!
Happy crafting!
Hugs!
