Altered wood chopping board

Hello, my lovelies!
I hope you are all safe and well!
I love to use corrugated cardboard in my creations, as well as some metal elements (especially with rust or patina effect) and lace. Some times ago, my husband has bought a few small wooden chopping boards and we have never actually used them...until now. I decided to alter one of these since the tag looking shape was just perfect for my idea.
Here is the result:

I used a piece of peeled corrugated cardboard (the thin one) and cut a shape using one of my Sizzix dies.
To achieve the rust effect I used some Distress stains and my Pentart rust powder with 3 different rust effect reagents. I love how this turned out.

Some lace and cheese cloth with lots of different sprays (Dylusions, Distress stain sprays and Lindy's) have been used in creating the background texture. I used my DecoArt Metallic Lustres and Inka Golds on top of my background.
I cut a piece of a heavy cardstock using my Tim Holtz mixed media die (Harlequin pattern) and used my rust powder with cinnamon to achieve the rusty effect to it. I also used my Crafty Notions rusting powder to rust all of my metal elements.

A butterfly, corset and a little resin rose are from my stash. I have created a dress using my vintage laces, coloured with my Distress stain sprays and Dylusions sprays.

I hope you like my altered wooden chopping board.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving lovely comments! I read and appreciate each and every one of them!
Hugs! Branka xx

  4. Branka, I wish I were 10 inches tall so I could wear your beautifully designed dress! This piece is my new Branka favorite--the lace in the background makes a perfect foil to all those AMAZING rust techniques. I keep looking back at that "iron" scroll work at the top and rubbing my eyes, because if I didn't own that die, I would believe this was a real piece of iron! Awesome design, and a HUGE round of applause. I put this in my Absolute Favorites pins! Big hugs!
