Pretending - art journal page

Hi, friends!
I decided to challenge myself in creating small art journal pages. So, I pulled out my mini art journal (3.5 x 5.5) and started creating my background using my distress paints, watersoluble crayons, Dylusions paints and my oil pastels. This was my first try to draw a face using oil pastels and it was sooo fun :) I used two Dylusions stamp sets here - one for the quote and one for the border. I also used my Uni Posca pens in black and white to colour the stamped border. For shading I used my Stabilo Carborhello pencil in black.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving sweet comments! It means much to me!

Have a wonderful day!

  2. Branka, it always makes my day to come see your journal pages, and this one is just so fun! I love the colors and your portrait is so artsy! Fabulous work, my friend, and always such a pleasure to visit your blog. Yes, pretending to be pleasant IS EXHAUSTING, but BEING pleasant is not! I try not to pretend too much, because it is hard work, and nobody falls for it! Tee hee! Big hugs!

  5. Haha! Love what Samra said. Hehe! This hand drawn face and sentiment are perfect together. I couldn't agree more. Some people mistake my kindness for weakness, so then I have to set them straight. ;) The green background is so vibrant and that purple hair is awesome sauce! Love your journal pages dear Branka! You are fantabulous! Hugz to you muffin! ~Niki
